Pheasant Near Grandeur Peak
I was surprised I was able to get so close to this pheasant wandering the grass near Grandeur Peak. There was a chain-link fence between me and the bird. I think somehow it was able to sense I wasn’t a danger to it because of the fence.

You mean Pearl? She's the one that spotted the pheasant for me! She was walking ahead of me and then stopped all of a sudden. I looked in the direction she was looking and there it was walking through the grass just on the other side of the chain-link fence.
